Work in Canada Programs (for international youth participating in a program in Canada):

 

I, being the person applying for a SWAP Working Holidays program, hereby agree that my application to, and participation in, a SWAP program as operated by SWAP, shall be governed by the following Terms and Conditions dependent on the program you select. If you have any questions about these program conditions, please contact SWAP at canada@swap.ca.

1.   I agree that I have a valid passport that is, and will continue to be, valid for the length of time required by the Canadian government.
2.    I meet all of the eligibility requirements and visa conditions for International Experience Canada. These requirements can be found here.
3.    My visa application will be lodged before the close of the 2025 IEC season; estimated to close at the end of September 2025. If I do not lodge my application in time for the expiry, I understand my participation on the SWAP program will be considered expired and no refund will be given.
4.    I am required to submit all requested application documentation in a timely manner, as advised by SWAP and IRCC’s timelines. I understand that once applications are submitted to IRCC for processing, delays can occur. SWAP will not be held responsible, financially or otherwise, for any problems caused by delays that are out of SWAP’s control.
5.    SWAP has no control over the decision of IRCC to issue a visa.
6.    The information provided by SWAP on its website and written materials is accurate as December 2024. I accept that IEC may change rules, regulations, and other changes that may affect SWAP’s programs after this date, and this is beyond SWAP’s control. SWAP will do its utmost to update participants on any changes and I agree to cooperate with SWAP if such changes occur.
7.    SWAP reserves the right to deny participation on any program at SWAP’s discretion.
8.    SWAP makes no representation or warranty of any kind, expressed or implied, as to the suitability of the program for the Participant, and SWAP disclaims all such warranties to the full extent of the law.
9.    SWAP reserves the right to dismiss me from a SWAP program if, in its best judgment, I am deemed to be a danger to myself or to others, or if my conduct is deemed to be detrimental to the program in any way. In the event of such a dismissal, SWAP will not be held responsible for any resulting expenses I may incur, and no refunds will be given.
10.    SWAP reserves the right to alter or terminate a program at any time. Affected participants are entitled to an immediate refund of some or all monies paid for services not rendered.
11.    I agree that if I have any dependents, have been denied a visa previously, have been convicted of a crime, have a criminal record, or have any charges pending, I will divulge all of this information to SWAP prior to application. I understand that this may make me ineligible to participate on a SWAP program.
12.    Information related to the application to a SWAP program is privileged and will not be divulged to third-parties, including but not limited to, family members and friends.
13.    I am responsible for reading the information and abiding by the guidelines contained in SWAP instructional materials, provided as part of SWAP programs.
14.    I agree that SWAP is not responsible for my health and safety before, during, and after the program. Furthermore, SWAP is not responsible for any outstanding financial obligations such as, but not limited to, telephone bills, loans, or rent accrued during my time as a SWAP program participant.
15.    I agree that I will obtain medical travel insurance that will cover me for the duration of the SWAP/IEC program for which I am registered. I am solely responsible if my insurance coverage expires while I am in Canada.
16.    I will be responsible for all travel, outside of specified SWAP program inclusions. All travels before, during, and after my SWAP program will be at my own risk and expense.
17.    I will abide by all general and local laws in Canada while I am participating on a SWAP program. Unlawful behavior may result in expulsion from the SWAP program with no refund given.
18.    SWAP will not be held responsible for any damages, injuries or loss incurred to myself or to other parties by my actions, howsoever or when caused, while participating on a SWAP program.
19.    SWAP shall not be held responsible for delays or failure to provide programs due to force majeure or other causes beyond its control.
 

 

SWAP Abroad Programs (For Canadian youth participating on international programs):

1.    I agree that I have a valid passport that is, and will continue to be, valid for the length of time required by the foreign government to which I am applying for a visa.
2.    I meet all of the eligibility requirements and visa conditions for the program(s) for which I am applying. These requirements can be found on swap.ca
3.    My departure from Canada to the destination country will be within 12 months of my registration date, otherwise my participation on the affected SWAP program will be considered expired and no refund will be given.
4.    I am required to submit all requested application documentation in a timely manner, as advised by SWAP. I understand that once applications are submitted to the appropriate government agency for processing, delays can occur. SWAP will not be held responsible, financially or otherwise, for any problems caused by delays that are out of SWAP’s control.
5.    SWAP has no control over the decision of the Consulate of the intended destination country to issue a visa.
6.    The information provided by SWAP on its website and written materials is accurate as December 2024. I accept that foreign governments may change rules, regulations, and other changes that may affect SWAP’s programs after this date, and this is beyond SWAP’s control. SWAP will do its utmost to update participants on any changes and I agree to cooperate with SWAP if such changes occur.

14.    I agree to take with me the minimum proof of funds required by the government of the relevant destination country.
15.    I will notify SWAP of any serious medical conditions I have or if I have travelled within the last five years to any countries that are considered medium or high risk, as this may cause delays in obtaining a visa. This may require additional actions such as, but not limited to, getting x-rays and health checks. I understand that this will be at my own expense.
16.    I agree that SWAP is not responsible for my health and safety before, during, and after the program. Furthermore, SWAP is not responsible for any outstanding financial obligations such as, but not limited to, telephone bills, loans, or rent accrued during my time as a SWAP program participant.
17.    I agree that I will obtain medical travel insurance that will cover me for the duration of the SWAP program for which I am registered. Participants who are otherwise adequately covered may be exempt from this requirement as long as proof of coverage is demonstrated. I am solely responsible if my insurance coverage expires while I am abroad.
18.    I will be responsible for all travel, outside of specified SWAP program inclusions. All travels before, during, and after my SWAP program will be at my own risk and expense.
19.    I agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions set by SWAP’s relevant partner organization(s). If you are unsure of these, please contact SWAP prior to application.
20.    I will abide by all general and local laws of the destination country while I am participating on a SWAP program. Unlawful behavior may result in expulsion from the SWAP program with no refund given.

General

These terms and conditions apply between you, the User of this Website (including any sub-domains, unless expressly excluded by their own terms and conditions), and SWAP Working Holidays Canada Inc., trading as SWAP, the owner and operator of this Website. 

Please read these terms and conditions carefully, as they affect your legal rights. 19. SWAP accepts no liability for any disruption or non-availability of the Website.

30. This Agreement shall be governed by and interpreted according to the law of Canada and all disputes arising under the Agreement (including non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Canadian courts. 

31. The participant understands that any discount code or credit issued on to their account will only be removed from the final payment. Promotional offers can’t be applied to deposits.

SWAP Working Holiday 50th Anniversary Giveaway Terms & Conditions (18.9.25)

 

1) Eligibility: 

This competition is open to eligible Canadian passport holders who are 18 years or older, except employees of SWAP Working Holidays, BUNAC Travel, JENZA Travel, USIT Travel, and their immediate families, affiliates, or agents. This competition is void where prohibited by law.

2) How to Enter: 

To enter the competition, participants must: 

  • Follow @swapabroad on Instagram 

  • Apply through the type form on this website. 

Participants may only enter once by filling out the Typeform on our website: https://jenza.typeform.com/SWAP50CompEntry 

 

3) Entry Period: 

The competition begins September 17th, 2025, and closes on October 31st, 2025. Entries received after closing will not be considered. 

 

4) Winner Selection: 

Winners will be chosen at random from all eligible entries received before the competition closes. The draw will take place on November 4th, 2025, and the winner will be contacted via email 7 days after the closing date to arrange delivery of the prize. 

 

5) Prize: 

There will be a total of 2 winners chosen. The individual must be between the ages of 18-35 in order to claim their prize. 

Each winner will receive one of the following: 

  • 1 free working holiday to the destination of their choice (any working holiday offered) plus a CAD 500 flight voucher, and SWAP swag that includes a t-shirt and journal.

6) Notification of Winner: 

The winner will be notified via their email or direct message. The winner must respond within 7 days to claim their prize. If the winner does not respond within this time frame, a new winner will be selected. 

Winners will also be announced on Instagram through SWAP’s profile. 

 

7) Alternative Winners: 

SWAP Working Holiday reserves the right to select an alternative winner if: 

  1. The winner is ineligible to enter the competition. 

  1. The winner is under 18 years of age. 

  1. The winner does not claim their prize within 7 days of the closing date. 

 If the winner cannot be contacted within 7 days of the announcement, an alternative winner will be chosen from the remaining entries. 

 

8) Publicity: 

By entering the competition, participants agree to the use of their name, likeness, and comment for promotional purposes, including being featured in the announcement of the winner and other related promotional materials. 

 

9) Prize Redemption: 

The winner will need to redeem their prize within 1 year of being informed they have won. This may vary depending on certain visa terms and may need to be redeemed sooner. The prize must be claimed by the selected winner and is not transferable. 

 

10) Technical Issues: 

SWAP is not responsible for any technical errors in communication networks, internet access, or other issues preventing entry into the competition. 

SWAP and our agents accept no responsibility for difficulties experienced in submitting an entry. 

 

11) Publicity Participation: 

The winner must agree to participate in reasonable publicity requested by SWAP, which may include social media posts and announcements across SWAP platforms. 

 

12) Right to Amend or Withdraw: 

SWAP reserves the right to withdraw or amend the giveaway in the event of unforeseen circumstances outside its reasonable control.

13) Liability:

14) Compliance with Terms: 

Entry into this giveaway will be deemed full and unconditional acceptance by the entrant of these Terms and Conditions. Failure to comply with these Terms and Conditions may result in disqualification and, if applicable, forfeiture of the prize. 

 

15) Right to Report Misconduct: 

SWAP reserves the right to alert Instagram to any behaviour deemed inappropriate or fraudulent, which may result in the person’s account being frozen pending investigation. 

 

16) Multiple Entries: 

Multiple entries are not allowed per person. No applications from agents, third parties, organized groups, or automatically generated entries will be accepted. 

 

17) Proof of Identity: 

Proof of identity may be requested before the prize is awarded to verify eligibility, including age. 

 

18) Third-Party Platforms:

19) Non-winner reward:
